1965 SCCA NATIONAL RACE PROGRAM
1965 SCCA Nat’l: Sherm Decker talks with Werner Wagner. Werner was Foreign Cars of Greenwich, the dealership supported by John Bunch. Bunch owned Decker’s Lola
65 SCCA Nat’l: The Bunch crew. Spankey Smith (on left, under tent in hat) Decker in drivers suit, Joan Decker, Sherm’s wife in pink. Owner John Bunch is far left in plaid shirt.
1966 USRRC: A rare appearance by Host Kwech in an Alfa T33. Unusual for an endurance built car, Kwech was gone early.
65 SCCA Nat’l: Bill Wonder’s Genie-Ford. Like Sherm’s Lola, the Genie did not finish.
65 SCCA Nat’l: Herb Wetanson’s 904 Porsche. Herb was still racing in vintage until 2018.
65 SCCA Nat’l: Holquists Ferrari is followed by Bob Grossman’s Ferrari 330. Some results show Grossman in a 250LM, but this photo shows that was not the case.
65 SCCA Nat’l: Richard Holquist’s Ferrari 250LM. The car was listed as #69, but here the 9 is blanked out.
65 SCCA Nat’l: What appears to be an Elva-Porsche #7. The entry shows #7 as a Jaguar. We think this might be the car Bruce Jennings drove.
65 SCCA Nat’l: Beattie poses next to a Ferrari GT. Because of the location of the track in the tawny Hamptons there were always fabulous cars in the paddock.
1968 USRRC: Sam Posey sits in the Caldwell D7. Posey started with Caldwell in formula vees and graduated quickley. Posey, a BARC driver, qualified 6th but did not finish.
1968 USRRC: Mark Donohue sits in his McLaren 6A. Mark qualified 2nd, led early but broke a half-shaft just after half way.
1968 SCCA: Team Spreen Mini into the pits. Driver looks a bit hassled.
65 SCCA Nat’l: Racer and barc woman Judy Beattie sits on the pit lane guardrail. Judy was racing this year, but not at The Bridge.
Brian O’Neil shows his flower power helmet. His Lola T-70 broke its differential.
68 SCCA: Jerry Truitt leads the GP field
68 SCCA: Hank Thorpe looks happy. Thorpe drove MG’s for many years but built this championship midget for Jerry Truitt.
